MCC to participate in ATF 2006

By Su Myat Hla

THE Myanmar Marketing Committee under the Myanmar Tourism Promotion Board, and the Union of Myanmar Travel Association will participate in the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2006.

The ATF, which marks its 25th anniversary this year, will be held in Davao City, Philippines, from January 13 to 21.

“ATF is the biggest tourism promotion event for the ASEAN region, and it also strengthens relationships among the member countries,” said MMC public relations manager Daw Khine Wai Thwe.

MMC will take promotional materials such as brochures and CDs to publicize Myanmar as a tourist destination, she said.

Several other Myanmar companies representing the tourism sector will also participate in the event, including Myanmar Airways International, Air Bagan, Summit Parkview Hotel, Sedona Hotel, SunBird Tours Myanmar and Tour Mandalay.

About 800 sellers from ASEAN region, 400 buyers and more than 150 international media representatives are expected to attend the annual event.
